20M Rated Celtic Star Expected To Be The Subject Of January Bid From English Premier League Club

Leicester City are now likely to step up their interest in Celtic midfielder Matt O’Riley when the January transfer window opens, according to reports.

Brendan Rodgers’ side sent their chief scout, Sean St Ledger, to watch the Danish Under 21 international during the 2-0 defeat against RB Leipzig last week, with the Foxes said to be seriously considering a bid for the player.

Newcastle have also scouted O’Riley recently, while Crystal Palace sporting director Dougie Freedman was spotted in Germany as he watched the midfielder in action during the first meeting with Leipzig.

Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal have been credited with an interest in the 21-year-old as well, but it looks as though Leicester will be the ones who will test the Hoops’ resolve by making a formal approach in the New Year.

It is believed that the Scottish champions may look to hold out for a fee in the region of £15m to £20m for O’Riley so it remains to be seen if any club matches the valuation.
