£3m Celtic Target Claims “Dream” Move To Europe Is Likely After Talks Are Held With A Number Of Teams

Houston Dynamo winger Alberth Elis has said he is hoping to seal a “dream” transfer to Europe in order to further his career.

Celtic reportedly offered £3m for the Honduran international last year, with his countryman Emilio Izaguirre having confirmed that the Hoops had been tracking the 24-year-old.

Now, with his contract set to expire in December, Elis has revealed that he is in talks with a number of clubs in Europe ahead of a possible move next January:

“My dream to be able to go to Europe and this is my chance. This is a real opportunity and I think I will make the decision that I will leave Houston and give Europe a go.”

“There are a few teams we are already talking to in Europe and Houston have also made me a contract offer, a very good one too.”

Whether Celtic will be one of those teams, it remains to be seen. Neil Lennon‘s side have lost Mohamed Elyounoussi after his loan spell from Southampton ended, so there could be a vacancy on the right-wing.

Elis has performed well in the MLS since moving from Monterrey two and a half years ago. The Honduran has scored 30 goals and laid on 21 assists in 81 league appearances for Houston. He also helped win the US Open Cup back in 2018.
