Sturm Graz will not take up their option to buy Celtic striker Albian Ajeti, according to reports in the Austrian media.

The Swiss international has scored four goals in 18 appearances since moving on loan back in August but he has been plagued by injuries.

Ajeti cost Celtic £5m when he joined from West Ham in 2020 and, while he did have some success after he first joined, he increasingly found game time hard to come by.

Following Ange Postecoglou‘s appointment, the forward played only 17 matches in all competitions last season. A serious hamstring injury did limit his minutes but he had already fallen behind both Kyogo Furuhashi and Giorgos Giakoumakis in the pecking order.

After Sturm Graz snapped him up at the start of the season, nobody believed that Ajeti would be back in a Hoops shirt but, from the sound of things, the 26-year-old will return to Lennoxtown in June.
