“A Rolls Royce Of A Footballer’ Stewart Lavishes Praise On Celtic Ace Who Is The “Future” Of The Club

Outside of Celtic Park

Michael Stewart is excited by the potential that Celtic midfielder David Turnbull has shown in a Hoops shirt this season.

It’s been a difficult campaign for the Scottish club but one of the shining lights has been Turnbull, who has been excellent since being given a long run in the first team. Stewart believes the future is looking very bright for the 21-year-old:

“A Rolls-Royce of a footballer. He’ll be disappointed he hasn’t made into the Scotland squad but that is the strongest part of Steve Clarke’s squad. I’d find a way to get him in there, he’s the future of Celtic.”

As Stewart mentions, it was a surprise that Scotland manager Steven Clarke opted against calling up Turnbull for the upcoming internationals. His performances have certainly merited inclusion in the squad.

The midfielder has racked up eight goals and contributed six assists in 31 appearances this season and he is undoubtedly worthy of recognition.

Considering he has had to play in a struggling Celtic team this campaign, it will be exciting to see what he is really capable of when the Hoops start a new era under a new manager.
