‘A Source Close To The Player…’ Report Provides Exciting Update As Celtic Close In On 6M Summer Transfer

Celtic are pushing ahead with their plans to sign Cameron Carter-Vickers on a permanent basis, according to SBI Soccer.

The American website claims that “a source close to the player” has told them the Hoops are in “advanced” talks with Tottenham to snap up the centre-back ahead of the summer transfer window.

It is believed that Ange Postecoglou’s side already have an option to buy Carter Vickers for £6m, with add-ons potentially increasing that figure to £10m.

SBI claim that Spurs are sticking to their guns with their original valuation so Celtic won’t be able to get the defender for a lower amount through negotiations.

The main reason for that is likely due to interest in Carter-Vickers from other clubs. Wolves, Leicester and Watford are all said to be keen so the Hoops will have to stump up the cash if they are to sign the centre-half.

There is no still definitive answer on whether the player has given his approval to the permanent move so that could also still be a stumbling block in a deal being finalised.
