“A Very Real Option…” Journalist Claims United Could Well Step Up Their Interest In 15M Rated Celtic Defender

Manchester United are seriously considering a move for Celtic fullback Josip Juranovic, according to journalist Dean Jones.

The former Eurosport reporter claims he has recently spoken to a source close to the Red Devils who suggested that the Croatian defender is on a list of potential targets that the Premier League side could pursue:

“I was speaking to someone about this last night, and he is actually a very real option [for United].

Juranovic has also been linked with Chelsea in recent days, although it is not thought that any team have made a formal bid for the 27-year-old at this stage.

It has been claimed that Celtic would demand at least £15m for the right-back, although many fans will feel that is a rather low figure considering he is a fully-fledged international, who has played at major tournaments.

Manager Ange Postecoglou did speak out regarding speculation about Juranovic’s future last week, but the Australian was rather blase about the reports, stating it simply demonstrates that the player is performing to a high standard:

“[The transfer talk] shows he’s playing well, and it also shows what can happen if you play well for this football club. This is a fantastic platform for anyone. Josip had a strong year last season and he wants to get even better. He had a strong pre-season and he’s working hard. It’s a big year for him with the World Cup, so there’s a lot for him at club and international level. He wants to be at his best and my job is to keep pushing him to be the best he can.”
