Montpellier have paid just €1m (plus add-ons) for Celtic centre-back Christopher Jullien, according to reports.
The Frenchman had been frozen out by manager Ange Postecoglou but supporters on Twitter feel that Montpellier have got themselves an excellent player for the price they paid:

Club has made a big lose on this deal. Wages and his transfer fee to bring to the club and leaving for this fee is shocking.

If he didn't want to stay and work his way back into the squad, that's on him. Best of luck in France.

The Hoops have made a big loss on Jullien. They paid Toulouse £7m for the defender back in 2019 and it is a surprise that the club have not been able to get a better return on their investment.
Jullien did suffer a serious knee injury which kept him out for more than a year, so you could argue that teams weren’t prepared to take a risk on signing a player who may not return to the performance levels he once showed.
The fact that Postecoglou didn’t even give Jullien much of a chance may suggest that the centre-half has struggled to recover his best form but it will be interesting to find out how he does at Montpellier.
