Aston Villa are preparing a £7m bid for Celtic attacking midfielder David Turnbull, according to reports in Scotland.
It is believed the Premier League side have sent scouts to watch the 21-year-old on multiple occasions this season and they have decided that he could perform well in the English top-flight.
Turnbull was only signed from Motherwell last summer for £2.7m and supporters on Twitter think it would take a much higher offer from Villa for the Hoops to even consider selling the player:
Absolute non starter. We should be building the team around him

Never happening. Especially for 7 million, would need to be at least double to talk about it

The midfielder was recently made the PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year and he possesses massive potential, so you wouldn’t expect Celtic to accept such an offer.
Turnbull is the future of the club and it would certainly send the wrong message to fans if they did decide to sell. With the likes of Odsonne Edouard and Ryan Christie likely to be sold anyway, the Hoops will surely not need to offload other players anyway.
