Adam Makes Sterling Comparison About Celtic Target Who Could Be Available For Free

Ex-Liverpool and Rangers midfielder Charlie Adam says Jordon Ibe has so failed to live up to his potential, in comparison with his former teammate Raheem Sterling.

Adam saw both players emerge through the youth ranks during his time at Anfield, and he feels Ibe, who has been linked with a move to Celtic, could have made more of his talent:

“He [Sterling] was unbelievable, you could tell something was different. But I actually thought Jordon Ibe should have done better than what he’s done.”

“He had everything, strong, quick, powerful, good player. But he just never fulfilled his potential, whereas Raheem has gone on to a different level.”

Ibe moved to Bournemouth for £15m in 2016, but he has scored only five goals and provided nine assists in 92 games since making the switch to the south coast. This campaign, he has made just four appearances for Eddie Howe’s side.

With his contract expiring at the end of the season, the 24-year-old could leave on a free transfer, and the Hoops may well consider taking a chance on him.

With Mohamed Elyounoussi returning to Southampton in the summer, and with the Scottish champions having failed to replace Lewis Morgan in January, signing another winger is a possibility. Whether manager Neil Lennon will consider Ibe as a potential option, though, we shall have to wait and see.
