Agent Of Kenyan Colossus Confirms “Informal Interest From Arsenal And Scottish Giants Celtic”

Celtic, Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund are all interested in signing Gent centre-back Joseph Okumu, according to the player’s agent.

The 6ft 4 defender only signed from Elfsborg last summer but his performances in Belgium have attracted the attention of the Hoops, although his agent suggests that Dortmund are the team most likely to make a formal offer for the Kenyan:

“We’ve had informal interest from Arsenal a Scottish giants Celtic, but Borussia Dortmund is the first to make an official inquiry about Okumu.”

Okumu was linked with Celtic before he made the move to Gent so there is a possibility that the Scottish champions have been keeping tabs on the 25-year-old’s progress over the last twelve months.

Manager Ange Postecoglou is said to be on the lookout for a new centre-half, even if Tottenham’s Cameron Carter-Vickers does sign on a permanent basis.

With Christopher Jullien also expected to leave Celtic Park, there will be room for another addition at the back. Okumu is not the only defender to be linked with the Hoops recently with Manchester City pair Taylor Harwood-Bellis and Ko Itakura also on the club’s radar.
