Celtic are interested in signing Derby County left-back Lee Buchanan but they are unlikely to match the Rams’ asking price for the player, according to the Sun journalist Alan Nixon.
The reliable reporter was asked about the Hoops’ pursuit of the 20-year-old this morning, and he said fans shouldn’t get their hopes up about signing the England Under 21 international:
Definite interest. But not sure they will offer the money to tempt Derby to sell. https://t.co/f4jaZtY6Jd

Buchanan is highly rated south of the border, with Arsenal and West Ham having also been linked with the player in recent months.
Derby are, though, in financial difficulty so that could be something Celtic could exploit if offers for the fullback aren’t forthcoming from other interested teams.
Hoops boss Ange Postecoglou is in desperate need of more options on the left-hand side of defence, with Greg Taylor having struggled for form recently. Boli Bolingoli seemingly doesn’t have a future at the Scottish club and the only other option, Adam Montgomery, has just two first-team appearances to his name.
