The City Football Group would “prefer” Lommel midfielder Vinicius Souza to join Celtic on loan this summer, according to journalist Anthony Joseph.
The Sky Sports reporter, however, believes that City will leave it down to the player to decide who he wants to sign for, with Ajax now having joined the Hoops, PSV, Bologna, Club Brugge and Fenerbahce in the race for the Brazilian’s signature:
UPDATE: Ajax have joined the list of interested clubs for Celtic target Vinicius Souza. @SkySportsNews understands the City Football Group, who own his club Lommel, would prefer that he was loaned to Celtic.
But the decision will be left up to the player and his agent. https://t.co/LOOhswTudI

Vinicius is certainly a player who is in high demand, and it will be interesting to see how Ajax’s involvement will affect things. The Eredivisie champions will be playing in the Champions League but so will Celtic.
It will be hoped that the input from City would push Vinicius in the Hoops’ direction but, as we saw with Yan Couto last season, the player will have the final say. The Brazilian fullback ended up joining Portuguese side Braga on loan, but it must be said that Ange Postecoglou’s side are a much more attractive proposition this summer.
