Celtic goalkeeper Joe Hart has been an excellent addition since he arrived from Tottenham at the start of last season.
However, in recent months, there has been growing doubts about whether the 35-year-old should stay as the club’s number one.
Hart’s shot-stopping abilities are not in question but some are not happy about his decision-making. Against Real Madrid on Wednesday evening, he decided not to come off his line before the Hoops conceded the first penalty. He then failed to get anything on the ball when he tried to cut out the cross for Real’s fourth. Supporters on Twitter are divided on whether the former England international should stay as first choice for the long term:
Badly need a new keeper for European games, he’s fine in the league but at the higher level he isn’t up to it

Great signing for us. I was once a keeper so any keeper that wins you more points than he loses you is essential, especially when not that active and producing a world class save. Has his moments, most do

He's a great keeper but he can't play the way that suits us although he is trying but if we want to compete we need a keeper that can pass

Great showstopper but decision making really lets him down

Hart has been massive for us, well respected by the players and gives the defence so much confidence. Would be a big mistake to change

He will remain no. 1 and I love the bloke but time to be dropped for me.

Still a pretty good keeper – great the way he seems to ooze class & experience & he deffo gets the Celtic ethos & feels part of it – starting to look a wee bit jaded in the big games but no. 1 for this season

Great signing. Real leader. What we need at this stage of this team’s development.

I really like Hart and I think he's been great for 90-95% of the time he's been here. But playing Angeball at Champions League level requires an upgrade. But GK isn't the only position that needs that so wouldn't single him out for that reason.

While Hart is undoubtedly an excellent leader, you do feel that there are keepers out there that would complement Ange Postecoglou’s style of play a lot more.
If a good enough replacement can be found, you wouldn’t be surprised if Postecoglou did decide to dispense with Hart’s services.
