Southampton would be opening to selling Mohamed Elyounoussi for a fee between £8m and £10m, according to the Football Insider.
The Norwegian international has been in superb form since arriving on loan from Celtic at the beginning of the season, having bagged seven goals and laid on six assists in 12 appearances for the Scottish champions.
After hearing about the Saints’ asking price, Celtic supporters on Twitter have been calling on the club to make a bid:
Bargain. Get the deal done. ??

We have the cash. Let’s go for it.

£10 million isn’t a lot to pay. I’d call that a bargain actually. But we’re not going to break our entire wage structure to pay him what he’s getting at Southampton which is £60k+ pw.
Would love to hang on to him but he’ll get a move elsewhere without dropping £1m a year— Ross Sutherland (@Sutherland504) November 20, 2019
We have the money so signing a player of his quality is a no brainer for me.

Sign him……plus at only 25 there is scope to make a good profit if he decides on pastures new down the line. Terrific player who’s fit in well at our club.

I’d imagine it’s probably already been briefly discussed with the player if he would be interested in staying if they have made contact with Southampton

Elyounoussi suffered an injury scare during the recent international break, with the 25-year-old having withdrawn from Norway’s squad due to a foot injury.
However, the winger has downplayed the significance of the problem, stating he has been playing through the injury in recent weeks and was only sent home due to a precaution:
“I actually picked up the injury against Hibs in the Betfred Cup semi-final. Then I had to go with the national team and it didn’t really have enough time to heal. So we had a look at it and it was decided I needed a rest but I think it will be all right.”
Hoops fans will be delighted with the injury update and they will be hoping that Elyounoussi will be fit to face Livingston this weekend.
