Belgian Club Closing In On Loan For Celtic Misfit With Deal Likely To Be Finalised This Weekend

Racing Genk are close to sealing a loan move for Celtic midfielder Eboue Kouassi, according to reports in the Belgian media.

The Ivorian is said to be in Belgium to finalise his temporary move to the Pro League outfit and the deal could be finalised by the end of the weekend.

Kouassi was signed for £3m from Krasnodar just over three years ago but he has struggled for game time. The 22-year-old has not played for Celtic since suffering a knee injury in the League Cup semi-final against Hearts 15 months ago.

It is believed the midfielder’s loan move to Genk could well have a purchase option included so the player may not return to Parkhead at the end of the season.

Kouassi was tipped to have a big future following his switch to Scotland, but in his 22 appearances for the Hoops, he did not score a single goal and provided just one assist.
