Celtic goalkeeper Vasilis Barkas is attracting interest from a number of clubs, according to Greek journalist Giannis Chorianopoulos.
The 28-year-old has been loaned out to FC Utrecht and he has been performing well for the Eredivisie side. Chorianopoulous says that, while the Dutch team would like to sign the shot-stopper on a permanent deal, there are also “other clubs” interested in the player:
❗Vasilis Barkas has a really good season at FC Utrecht on loan from Celtic (14 matches/5 clean sheets). Utrecht will like to make the transfer permanent (summer 2023) but also other clubs are keep an eye on Greek GK 🟢@CelticFC#CelticFC #Celtic

Supporters on Twitter are very happy that Barkas is attracting interest from elsewhere, with it being hoped that they can limit the losses on the keeper they paid £5m for:

Barkas had an extremely disappointing spell as Celtic’s number one. 23 goals conceded and 11 clean sheets in 24 appearances doesn’t tell the full story. He very rarely managed to make a good save, with many weak shots making it past his gloves. The difference in quality when Joe Hart arrived was massive, and fans would gladly see the back of Barkas as soon as possible.
