Celtic midfielder Nir Bitton and left-back/winger Jonny Hayes both have contracts that expire at the end of the season and with only a few months to go before January, they have yet to be handed fresh terms.
Supporters on Twitter have been debating whether the pair deserve to be handed new deals. While there is almost unanimous agreement that Bitton should stay, not everyone is as convinced about Hayes:
Both deserve new deals to be fair, both very good back up players to have. Even more so when they never moan or kick up a fuss when their not playing.

Both versatile players and proven performers in this league.

Bitton all day long , Hayes 50/50

Of course they will. Celtic wouldn't let go for free. No way.

Hayes isn’t good enough

I hope the both of them get new contacts.

Big Bitton has took his chance to get back in the team really well and has just been unlucky with injury again. Hayes unfortunately isn’t good enough or we wouldn’t have signed Taylor

Bitton yes, Hayes no

They deserve it

Hoops boss Neil Lennon has raised the prospect of Bitton getting a new contract in recent weeks, but there has been little talk about Hayes’ situation.
The 32-year-old has already had a decent season, considering he scored the second goal in the 2-0 win against Rangers last month, but he does have a battle on his hands to get game time this campaign.
Boli Bolingoli is currently first choice at left-back while the Scottish champions also signed Greg Taylor from Kilmarnock to provide more competition.
