Brendan Rodgers Not Sure What Star’s Future Is At Celtic

Things are not getting clearer regarding Celtic’s French striker despite the end of the transfer window being just around the corner.

There have been so many reports regarding Dembele’s future that it is hard to figure out what will happen next.

The bad part is that all this pressure seems to affect him as his effectiveness has dropped considerably since last year.

He is now one 3rd of the way in terms of goals and assists compared to his previous statistics. From 32 goals and 9 assists in 49 games to 8 goals and 3 assists in 21 games there’s a considerable difference, difference that has led to some supporters encouraging Brendan Rodgers to sell while he can still make serious profit.

To be fair, it’s not often you get such an opportunity and find such a gem and have the chance to make some big money. The catch to that is Dembele’s contribution to the club’s has been enormous so selling him might make life more difficult for Celtic and put more pressure on the other goal-scorers if a suitable replacement is not added.

May be that is why Brendan Rodgers is avoiding a straight answer. A decision has not been made yet.

Here’s his latest update regarding the Dembele saga:

“I can’t say either way,”

“You just never know. But at this moment in time Moussa is here and training.

“We shall see.”

Maybe Celtic are looking for a replacement or maybe they are thinking that Dembele will get back his groove and possibly move clubs in the summer. The likes of Brighton and even Newcastle are not really a step forward for the 21-year-old Frenchman.

He showed everyone how talented he is but now he needs to work on his long-term mentality. Rodgers can help with that and can assist him in reaching his true potential as he did when he signed Philippe Coutinho from Milan for Liverpool and we all know how well that worked out for Rodgers’ former club in the end.
