Celtic And Rangers Both Keen On Snapping Up £2.5m Rated Scottish Starlet

Celtic and Rangers are fighting it out for Dundee United striker Louis Appere, according to reports in the UK. The Old Firm rivals have been impressed with the 20-year-old’s performances alongside Lawrence Shankland this season.

He has scored four goals and provided five assists in 22 appearances this campaign, helping the Terrors to the top of the Scottish Championship table, with 14 wins from 17 games.

Appere is, however, also on the radar of a number of English teams. Premier League clubs Bournemouth and Norwich are believed to be watching the forward, along with second-tier sides Leeds and Brentford.

Dundee United are reportedly prepared to sell up for the right price, with a £2.5m valuation having been set for the young Scottish star.

That does appear to be a pretty hefty asking price considering his level of displays in the Championship. Whether Celtic or one of their rivals will bite, we shall have to wait and see.
