Celtic Brace Themselves For Bid From Premier League Club For Midfield Maestro

Outside of Celtic Park

Bournemouth are considering a bid for Celtic midfielder Callum McGregor, according to reports.

The Scottish international has been in superb form for Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers in recent months, and the Scottish champions would be very reluctant to let the player leave Parkhead.

It is believed that Celtic would hold out for a sizeable offer if they were to sell McGregor in January, but Bournemouth may look to test the waters.

Cherries boss Eddie Howe is struggling for options in central midfield after Lewis Cook was ruled out for the season with an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

The Premier League side are therefore seeking a replacement with McGregor being eyed. A scout from the South Coast club was spotted as Celtic beat Aberdeen 1-0 in the Betfred Cup Final at the beginning of the month.

Whether Bournemouth will follow up their interest with a concrete bid when the transfer window opens, it is not know, but it looks as though Celtic will have a battle on their hands to keep hold of their midfield general.
