Celtic Closing In On Their TENTH Signing Of The Summer After Prolific Forward Agrees Four Year Deal

VVV Venlo striker Georgios Giakoumakis is set to put pen to paper on a four-year contract with Celtic, according to reports in the UK.

The Greek international is believed to have turned down an offer from German second division side Werder Bremen in order to make the move to Scotland.

Celtic have agreed to pay a fee in the region of £2.5m for Giakoumakis, who scored an impressive 29 goals in 33 appearances for VVV last campaign.

The Dutch side were still relegated from the Eredivisie despite the 26-year-old finishing as the league’s top scorer, and he was always expected to leave the Netherlands before the transfer window closed.

Giakoumakis will be the Hoops’ tenth signing of the summer, with the likes of Kyogo Furuhashi, Carl Starfelt, Liel Abada, Josip Juranovic, Joe Hart, Liam Scales, Liam Shaw, Osaze Urhoghide and James McCarthy having all been recruited by the Scottish club over the past few months.
