Celtic Consider 4 Cap Greek International As Possible Replacement For Juranovic

Celtic have added Sheffield United fullback George Baldock to their list of candidates as they consider potential replacements for Josip Juranovic, according to reports in the UK.

Although there have been no formal bids for Juranovic yet, the likes of Atletico Madrid and Leicester are believed to be interested in recruiting the Croatian.

If the Hoops do end up losing Juranovic, they don’t want to be caught short, so they are looking at Baldock as an option. The 29-year-old was considered last summer, but it was thought that Sheffield United’s asking price was too high.

Since then, the fullback has made four appearances at international level for Greece. He switched allegiance from England back in May and he was handed his first cap last month.

Any move for Baldock is, of course, dependent on what happens with Juranovic. The defender is said to be happy at Parkhead but that could change if a club like Atletico do make an approach for him.
