Celtic Could Potentially Get A £6m Windfall From Ex Star’s Transfer

Lyon could be set to sell Moussa Dembele regardless of whether they qualify for the Champions League next season, according to reports in the French media.

Chelsea are said to have had a €40m (£33m) offer rejected for the 23-year-old in January but it is claimed that the former Celtic player could fetch up to £60m in the summer.

If that does turn out to be the case then the Hoops could be in line for a significant windfall. When they sold Dembele to Lyon for £20m in 2018, they agreed a 10% sell-on clause.

Whether the Scottish champions will actually receive the full £6m for the forward, it remains to be seen, but it is believed that both Chelsea and Manchester United are very keen on the player.

The Blues are said to be leading the way for Dembele, and if the Frenchman does move to Stamford Bridge at the end of the season, Celtic fans will be hoping that their club’s cut of the deal is put to good use in the transfer market.
