Celtic Get Transfer Boost With 1M Rated Centre Back Target ‘Set To Be Sold’ By His Current Club

Lausanne Sport centre-back Moritz Jenz is “set to be sold” by the Swiss club this summer, according to the Scottish Sun.

The newspaper reports that the German is being targeted by Celtic and his availability means the Hoops could well seal a deal for the 22-year-old relatively quickly.

Manager Ange Postecoglou has limited options at centre-half. Kristoffer Ajer has been sold to Brentford leaving the Celtic boss with Stephen Welsh, Nir Bitton and new signing Carl Starfelt as his only alternatives.

Christopher Jullien is still recovering from a long-term knee injury, and with Bitton missing from the second leg of their Champions League qualifier against FC Midtjylland due to suspension, Postecoglou desperately needs reinforcements.

Jenz is reportedly valued at just £1m, and with Lausanne prepared to let him go, an agreement over the transfer fee should not be that difficult to reach. We shall see if there is any movement on this deal over the next week.
