Celtic Given Big Transfer Boost As 4M Rated Polish Marksman Reveals He’s Confident That Move Will “Happen This Month”

Gornik Zabrze striker Szymon Wlodarczyk says he expects to move clubs before the January transfer window closes.

Celtic are believed to be one of the teams interested in the 20-year-old, along with Bundesliga side Freiburg and Belgian club Anderlecht. When asked about his future, the forward was very open about his ambitions:

“There are times in every footballer’s life when you know and understand that a change is inevitable and you need a new beginning. And it seems that will happen this month.”

Wlodarczyk could reportedly cost as much as £4m, which means all of the money from the sale of Giorgos Giakoumakis would likely need to be invested to secure his signature.

The Polish Under 21 international has been in decent form this season, scoring seven goals in 17 appearances, so it looks as though he could provide the firepower needed to offset the loss of Giakoumakis.

Ange Postecoglou’s side have been linked with other strikers this month, including Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors’ Cho Gue-sung and Stal Mielec’s Said Hamulic, but it does appear Wlodarczyk is the likeliest player to be brought in currently.
