Celtic Given Major Boost Ahead Of Derby As Postecoglou Confirms Star’s Return To Training

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has revealed that Giorgos Giakoumakis is “back fit” and available for selection.

The Greek international missed the 9-0 win over Dundee United last time out due to illness but Postecoglou says the striker has now returned to training.

Postecoglou has also confirmed that he will rotate his team for the game against Ross County this evening, with the clash versus Rangers this weekend firmly in the back of his mind.

The trip home from Dingwall means they won’t be back in Glasgow until the early hours of Thursday morning and, with the game against the Gers being a lunchtime kickoff on Saturday, there isn’t really much chance for players to recover in time.

It is, therefore, sensible that there will be a decent number of changes to keep the team fresh. With that being the case, there is a chance that Giakoumakis could be selected from the start tonight in order to save Kyoto for the derby.
