Celtic Handed A Positive Update On Fraser Forster’s Future

Celtic goalkeeper Fraser Forster is prepared to take a wage cut in order to help force through a permanent move to the Scottish club at the end of the season, according to reports in the English media.

The 31-year-old was once again in outstanding form on Thursday night when he saved a penalty in the 1-1 draw against FC Copenhagen in the Europa League.

Forster is currently on a season-long loan from Southampton but the likelihood that Celtic would be able to sign the player permanently appeared to be low due to the keeper’s salary.

He is reportedly earning as much as £70,000 a week at the Saints; a figure that the Scottish champions would not be able to match.

However, the news that Forster is willing to lower his salary expectations could allow a move to go ahead in the summer. It would certainly be a development that would delight every Celtic fan if the shot-stopper does stay at Parkhead.
