Celtic Handed Major Injury Boost As Playmaker Returns to Training

Celtic midfielder Tom Rogic has been pictured back in training with the senior squad. The Australian international has not played a single minute this season due to an ankle problem.

The 26-year-old sustained the injury during the Scottish Cup final win against Hearts back in May and has been undergoing rehabilitation over the summer months. He now appears to be nearing a first-team return:

Rogic’s position in the side has been taken by Ryan Christie who has been a very capable replacement. The Australian will have a battle on hands to get his place back in the side on a regular basis.

The playmaker has struggled with injuries in recent years, with the player having to undergo knee surgery back in January. He did return to action in late March only to suffer another fitness setback.

When Rogic will be back playing regularly for the Hoops, it remains to be seen, but this latest update seems to suggest he is close to making a comeback.
