Celtic Handed Triple Fitness Boost Ahead Of Mammoth Clash Against Rangers

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that Greg Taylor, Reo Hatate and Aaron Mooy should all be available for the derby against Rangers this weekend.

Taylor was substituted midway through the second half of the 2-0 win over Ross County on Sunday due to an injury but Postecoglou played down the seriousness of the issue:

“He had a dead leg which hampered him. But it’s nothing that’s going to keep him out I wouldn’t think.”

Hatate and Mooy, meanwhile, weren’t in the matchday squad for the trip to Dingwall, with the former having a hamstring problem, while the latter was sidelined due to a back injury. However, Postecoglou is confident that both players will be back in training sometime this week:

“Reo and Aaron were close but not quite ready [for the Ross County match]. We’ve got a full week after this game and if everything goes well they should be available.”

The Hoops weren’t at their best against Ross County, needing goals late on in each half to secure the three points, so the return of three key first-team players will be a boost ahead of the weekend. Whether they will all be ready to start on Saturday afternoon, though, we shall have to wait and see.
