Celtic Have THIRD Goalkeeper Target If They Fail To Land Forster Or Hart

Outside of Celtic Park

Celtic are considering making a move for Wigan Athletic goalkeeper David Marshall if they can’t land Fraser Forster or Joe Hart, according to the Daily Mail.

At the moment, the Hoops are prioritising signing Forster on another loan deal, with the Scottish champions expected to make a formal offer sometime this week.

However, if for some reason the Saints reject the proposal, manager Neil Lennon may well consider other options, including Marshall.

The Scottish international does have a tremendous amount of experience, having played for Norwich, Cardiff, Hull as well as Celtic in his early days as a professional.

Marshall made 28 appearances for the Hoops in the mid-00s, while manager Neil Lennon was still playing for the first team, so the keeper will be returning to familiar surroundings if he does come back to Parkhead.

The 35-year-old does, though, have a year left on his contract at Wigan, so, unlike Hart, he would cost a transfer fee.
