Celtic Hold “Serious Interest” In England U17 Ace But Face Battle With Champions League Side

Celtic are keen to snap up Aston Villa attacking midfielder Aaron Ramsey when his contract expires in the summer, according to the Daily Mail.

The English tabloid claims that the Hoops hold a “serious interest” in the 17-year-old but they could face Ajax in the race to sign the player at the end of the season.

Ramsey has not made his senior debut yet but he is England’s captain at Under 17 level and he is tipped to make an impact in the first team when he is given a chance.

Celtic are thought to be very likely to offer the teenager a contract and, due to cross border rules, the Scottish club will only have to pay a nominal fee to secure the midfielder’s services.

Villa are also ready to fight to keep hold of Ramsey so this could turn out to be a hotly-contested three-way battle to sign him ahead of the 2021/22 campaign.
