Celtic in Transfer Tussle With Three EPL Clubs For Ex-Arsenal Frontman

Celtic are one of four clubs interested in signing Emmanuel Adebayor, according to reports in the English media.

Watford, Sheffield United and West Ham are also in the mix for the 35-year-old, with the Hammers currently leading the race for the veteran striker.

Adebayor is keen to play in London after previously playing for Arsenal and Tottenham in the city.

The former Manchester City forward has been without a club since leaving Istanbul Basaksehir last month when his contract expired.

During his time with the Turkish club, Adebayor scored 28 goals in 76 appearances, but he hit the back of the net just four times last campaign.

The Togolese star’s wages would present a problem for Celtic, but manager Neil Lennon is likely looking for a new striker before the transfer window closes.

The Hoops currently have Odsonne Edouard, Leigh Griffiths and Vakoun Issouf Bayo as options in the squad, but Adebayor could offer a greater threat in the air.
