Celtic Keen To Beat Rangers For 22 Year Old As Lennon Looks To Seal First Summer Deal

Celtic are keen to snap up Charlton Athletic midfielder Joe Aribo, according to reports in the Scottish media.

It is believed manager Neil Lennon has had his scouts make trips to see the 22-year-old ever since he returned to the hot seat at the Scottish champions.

Aribo is out of contract this summer, and Celtic will only have to pay a small compensation fee to secure his services.

However, the Hoops will face competition for the player with rivals Rangers as well as Aston Villa and Stoke City also said to be preparing contract offers for the midfielder.

Aribo could even yet stay with Charlton at the Valley after the BBC claimed that the Addicks have offered a new deal to the player following the club’s promotion to the English Championship.

Last season, the central midfielder scored ten goals and laid on five assists in 39 league appearances for his club.
