Celtic Keen To Take Advantage Of 6.9M Rated Gabonese Ace’s Contract Situation

Celtic remain interested in signing Hatayspor winger Aaron Boupendza, according to reports in the Turkish media.

Despite not having a manager or a director of football, the Hoops’ recruitment department is still believed to be running the rule over potential transfer targets.

Boupendza’s situation has reportedly grabbed their attention, with the Gabonese international likely to be sold by Hatayspor with his contract expiring at the end of next season.

After scoring 22 goals in the Turkish Super Lig last campaign, it is not surprising that Celtic are keen to bring the 24-year-old to Scotland but there are likely to be a number of stumbling blocks.

Galatasaray are also interested and, with Boupendza believed to be keen to stay in Turkey, that could prove to be a problem. His asking price may also put him out of reach, with reports suggesting that the Hoops could have to pay as much as €8m (£6.9m) to secure the player’s services.
