Celtic ‘Keep Tabs’ On Elyounoussi Replacement Who Could Move On Free Transfer In The Summer

Celtic retain an interest in Bournemouth winger Jordon Ibe, according to the Football Insider. The website reports that the Hoops have continued to “keep tabs” on the 24-year-old after initially trying to sign the player at the start of the season.

The Scottish champions reportedly opened talks with Bournemouth late in the summer, but after negotiations stalled, Neil Lennon’s side opted to sign Mohamed Elyounoussi on loan from Southampton instead.

With the Norwegian expected to return to the Saints in the summer, Celtic could well revive their move for Ibe, who has had limited playing opportunities this campaign.

The former Liverpool midfielder has made just four appearances for the Cherries in all competitions and he has not featured since the 2-0 defeat to Burton Albion in the Carabao Cup back in September.

Ibe’s contract expires in June, and with the winger available on the free transfer, the Hoops are the favourites to snap him up.
