Celtic have expressed an interest in signing Stoke City forward Mohamed Sankoh, according to the Football Insider.

The website claims the Hoops have been in contact with the teenager about signing a professional deal with the Scottish champions when he turns 17 in October.

Sankoh will also be available for a modest fee with Celtic only obligated to pay £300,000 due to cross border rules over compensation for young players.

The striker moved to Stoke from Sparta Rotterdam in 2018 and he has already been capped by the Netherlands at Under 16 and Under 17 level.

Sankoh has also impressed in the Under 18 Premier League this campaign, bagging three goals and providing three assists in just six appearances. His form led to him being promoted to the Under 23 side.

The Dutchman does have other potential suitors which Celtic will need to be wary of. Chelsea and Everton are also reportedly monitoring the player’s situation so Head of Football Nicky Hammond will need to move quickly to get his man.
