Celtic are ready to make an offer for Charlton Athletic left wingback Alfie Doughty, according to reports in the Scottish media.
The Hoops have been tracking the 20-year-old for a while and they are expected to make an offer in the region of £750,000 for the player. It is believed the Addicks will allow the left-back to leave for the right amount.
Celtic have been actively looking for a replacement for Boli Bolingoli, with a loan offer for Paris Saint-Germain starlet Mitchel Bakker having already been rejected in recent days.
Doughty doesn’t have the same reputation as his Dutch counterpart but he is highly rated by the Scottish champions’ scouts, who believe he can strengthen manager Neil Lennon’s options on the left flank.
With Jonny Hayes having left in the summer, and Bolingoli expected to be offloaded before the transfer window closes, Greg Taylor is the club’s only real option on the left-hand side at the moment.
