Celtic Look To Replicate Eduoard And Dembele Success As They Battle For French Teenager

Celtic have joined Valencia and RB Leipzig in the race to sign Lille striker Fadiga Ouattara, according to reports in the French media.

The 18-year-old has yet to play a senior game, although his impressive performances in the UEFA Youth League this season did lead to him getting a place on the bench for Lille’s French Cup tie against US Raon-l’Etape in January.

Playing for the Under 19s, Ouattara bagged four goals in six games, including a brace against Valencia, likely leading to the Spanish club’s interest in the player.

Celtic’s Head of Football Operations Nicky Hammond and his recruitment department have been looking right across Europe for potential young talent. The Hoops have also been linked with Martin Minchev and Michal Karbownik in recent days.

In regards to Ouattara, the Scottish champions are likely trying to replicate the success they had with bringing in two other young French forwards, in Moussa Dembele and Odsonne Edouard. Whether the Lille starlet will also end up at Parkhead, we shall have to wait and see.
