Celtic Look To Snap Up £2.5m Marksman Who Has Scored Seven Goals In His Last Seven Games

Outside of Celtic Park

Celtic are keen on signing Maccabi Tel Aviv forward Yonatan Cohen for £2.5m, according to reports in the Scottish media. The 23-year-old is in superb form at the moment having scored seven goals in his seven league games.

The Israeli international is not an out and out striker, though, and would not come in as understudy for Odsonne Edouard. He prefers to play wide on the left or on the right, or as a number 10.

Scott Sinclair’s departure to Preston and Lewis Morgan’s proposed move to MLS does pave the way for the Hoops to sign another wide player.

Cohen’s flexibility and eye for goal could make him a perfect addition to the squad, although it must be said he isn’t that experienced at the highest level.

He has just four caps for Israel and has featured in just eight European games at club level, taking part in both Europa League and Champions League qualifiers, but he has never played in the group stages.
