Celtic are looking to beat Tottenham for Linfield forward Charlie Allen, according to the Football Insider. The website reports that the Hoops will invite the 15-year-old for a trial and show him around the training complex at Lennoxtown.
A whole host of Premier League teams are said to be interested in the teenager with Leicester City, Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United all monitoring the player.
Celtic are, though, said to be confident about tempting Allen to make the move to Scotland with there being a higher possibility of him making it into the first-team setup.
Despite his young age, the forward has already made he senior debut, coming on as a substitute during Linfield’s match against Coleraine at the back end of last season.
Allen has also played for Northern Ireland at Under 17 level and is seen as one of the brightest young prospects to come through the system in recent years.
