Celtic Monitoring Czech Shot Stopper As Player Speaks Out On His Future

Celtic manager Neil Lennon is keeping an eye on St Mirren goalkeeper Vaclav Hladky, according to reports in the Scottish media.

The Czech shot-stopper had been linked with Old Firm rivals Rangers earlier in the season and it is believed that both clubs have been impressed by the 29-year-old’s form for the Saints.

Hladky’s contract expires in the summer, meaning he will be available on a free transfer, and when asked about his future recently, the keeper wasn’t giving that much away:

“Nobody has dealt with me. Of course, the clubs know I will be out of contract. There is no football to write about in the media, so you get speculation. I’m not addressing it yet.”

Celtic may well need a new goalkeeper at the end of the season. Number two Craig Gordon is almost certain to depart Parkhead when his contract ends in June, while there are also doubts over Fraser Forster’s future.

The Hoops would definitely like to keep the former England international on a permanent basis from Southampton but the player’s asking price and wages could scupper any deal from going ahead.
