Celtic Named As One Of Three Teams Keeping Tabs On French Ace

Celtic have been tracking Rodez Aveyron forward Sory Doumbouya, according to reports in France.

The Frenchman is currently playing in the fifth tier of French football in the Ligue Two’s side’s B team but his performances have attracted the attention of scouts from the Hoops, as well as Swiss clubs FC Basel and FC Sion.

Doumbouya made his way through FC Dijon’s academy but didn’t make his debut despite making the bench for a number of games during the first half of the 2018/19 season.

He then left Dijon in August 2019 and joined AS Saint-Priest on a free transfer before being snapped up by Rodez back in July. He isn’t deemed good enough for their first team, at the moment, though.

Doumbouya is of Guinean descent but he was born in Riom, France, and it seems Celtic have identified him as a player who could well make the grade at a higher level in the future.
