Celtic striker Adam Idah made his much-anticipated debut against Aberdeen in the 1-1 draw at the weekend.
The Republic of Ireland international came off the bench for the last half hour at Pittodrie and was immediately involved by providing the assist for fellow substitute Nicolas Kuhn‘s equaliser.
Despite Idah’s important contribution, though, there was a mixed reaction to his performance from supporters on X:
No he doesn’t mate and that’s why. NOrwich wanted shot of him.

Looks like a decent target man, hopefully if he performs well there's a deal in place to sign him on a perma…. Oh that's right, thanks again Celtic board #sacktheboard

Boy looked decent to be fair but to get the best out of him he needs to play with Kyogo playing off him

Idah will have to prove his critics wrong
Fans were very keen on the Hoops bringing in a new forward before the transfer window closed but many were far from convinced that Idah was the right signing.
The 22-year-old was brought in on loan from Norwich City with many feeling that Celtic’s board went for him as a cheap solution. He, therefore, has a job on his hands winning people around.
He will be looking to improve his goal record at Celtic
One of the main criticisms of Idah is that, despite being a talented player, he lacks a killer instinct in front of goal. During his time with the Canaries, he hit the back of the net just 17 times in 115 appearances.
The Irishman will be aiming for a much better goals-to-game ratio in the Scottish Premiership. His assist on Saturday was a positive sign but supporters will also be hoping he scores himself sooner rather than later.
