‘Garbage Play 90% Of The Time’ ‘Zero Pattern Of Play’ Fans Turn On Key Celtic Figure After Kilmarnock Defeat

Celtic slumped to their first league defeat of the season against Kilmarnock at the weekend.

Despite dominating the first half and taking the lead through Matt O’Riley, Killie came roaring back after the interval to secure a 2-1 victory.

Fans on X were not pleased with either the result or the performance, with many taking the chance to criticise manager Brendan Rodgers for the team’s poor style of play since his return to Parkhead:

Rodgers is not helping himself

The Celtic’s boss’s decision to select players like Nat Phillips, Mikey Johnston and Oh Hyeon-gyu has raised plenty of eyebrows.

You do have to wonder what the likes of Maik Nawrocki have to do to get game time when Rodgers is starting others who are clearly not up to the task.

Celtic have lost 1 game

There are legitimate criticisms to be made about Rodgers’ team selection and the performances of certain players, but there is also some overreaction after the Hoops lost their first league match of the season.

Obviously, with Celtic facing Rangers at the end of the month, there is some panic that the team’s lead at the top of the table could evaporate overnight and that has fed into how the fanbase have responded to Sunday’s loss.
