Celtic captain Callum McGregor put in one of his best displays of the season as the Hoops secured a 2-1 win over arch-rivals Rangers on Saturday afternoon.
The 30-year-old dominated the midfield, alongside Matt O’Riley and Paulo Bernardo, for most of the 90 minutes against the Gers.
Supporters on X were delighted with McGregor, who played an integral role in his side securing the three points in a crucial fixture:

I loved that he wasn't just dictating play with his passing, he was actually driving up the pitch with the ball, it's easy to forget that he's one of our best dribblers, he's too good to just sit deep and I hope to see more of it.

McGregor turned up for the big occasion
The club captain hasn’t been immune to criticism for some of his performances in recent weeks. Brendan Rodgers’ side have not been firing on all cylinders, to say the least, for quite some time.
However, McGregor stood up to the plate when it mattered. Derbies can be attritional affairs but he took the game by the scruff of its neck and helped control a key area of the pitch.
Celtic have to make the victory count
Rangers have got themselves back into the title race not necessarily because they had played that well, but due to the fact that the Hoops had taken their foot off the gas.
The win at the weekend is an opportunity for the Scottish champions to steady the ship, after some poor recent displays. Grabbing another three points at St Mirren is now the main goal so the team can go into the winter break in the right frame of mind.
