Celtic winger Yang Hyun-jun claims he is treating the derby against Rangers this weekend like any other “normal league match.”

The South Korean acknowledges it will be a tough game at Ibrox but he says he won’t be doing anything special in the build-up to the game on Sunday afternoon:

“I think it’s just a normal league match, I will train ahead of the match as usual. I was just told there will be no Celtic fans in the stadium and it will be a tough game, but I will work hard ahead of it. I definitely think there are no times that are always good and when something bad comes, there is also good coming too.”

There will be multiple Glasgow derby debutants for both teams (with Yang being among them), and it will be interesting to see who steps up to the plate in the febrile atmosphere.

Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers will be hoping for a good reaction from his players, especially after a drab 0-0 draw against St Johnstone at the weekend.

Yang only got an hour on Saturday before being hooked, and he may have to settle for a place on the bench against Rangers.

Luis Palma is expected to sign from Aris Thessaloniki in the next day or so, while the Scottish champions are said to be in the market for a goalkeeper, a left-back, a centre-back and potentially another forward.

With the transfer deadline fast approaching, the Hoops don’t have a lot of time to wrap up some of these deals.

It would also be a tough task for any of these additions to be ready and prepared to start on Sunday, but there could be a number of new faces among the substitutes.
