Celtic On Alert As Premier League Winger Is Set To Be Made Free Agent

Bournemouth winger Jordon Ibe will leave the Cherries at the end of his contract on June 30th, despite the Premier League season expected to continue beyond that date.

Celtic have been linked with the 24-year-old on an off over the past eighteen months and it now appears they will have an opportunity to sign him on a free transfer.

Bournemouth signed Ibe from Liverpool for £16m in 2016, but things have not worked out for him on the south coast, with the player having made just four appearances for Eddie Howe’s team this campaign.

The Hoops reportedly made a loan bid for the winger before the transfer window closed last summer but it was reported that the move failed over the player’s wage demands.

Whether Ibe will accept a lower salary now he is a free agent and without a club, it remains to be seen. If Celtic do opt to go back in for the midfielder, there will likely be competition from a number of English clubs.
