Celtic Plot £5m Move For Slovenian Poacher After Watching Him On Thursday Night

Celtic are considering making a bid for Slovan Bratislava striker Andraz Sporar, according to the Scottish Daily Mail. The newspaper claims the 25-year-old was scouted when his side lost 4-2 at home to Braga on Thursday.

The Slovenian international got on the scoresheet, taking his total to 20 goals in 22 appearances this season. He has been prolific, particularly in the Europa League, having bagged six in this year’s competition.

Sporar is reportedly valued at £5m by Bratislava, and it remains to be seen whether Celtic would be willing to pay such a large amount for the forward.

Hoops boss Neil Lennon has said that the club are actively looking for a new striker to provide support for Odsonne Edouard. Despite Leigh Griffiths being fit, winger Lewis Morgan has been picked ahead of him in recent matches with Edouard having been sidelined with injury.

Sporar would certainly give Celtic another option as they look to kick on in the second half of the campaign both domestically and in Europe.
