Celtic are lining up a deal for St Polten winger Husein Balic, according to reports in Scotland.

The Hoops are not the only club keen on the 23-year-old, though, with a number of English teams also reportedly tracking the pacey wide man.

Balic generally plays on the left-hand side, and impressed for Austria in the European Under 21 Championships last month, having started the final group game in the 1-1 draw against Germany.

Last season for St Polten, Balic scored eight goals in all competitions as well as providing five assists in 34 appearances.

Balic’s most impressive performances came in the Austrian Cup, scoring two braces in the first and second round.

Reports suggest that the Austrian could be available for just £700,000 this summer, with the player entering the last year of his contract at St Polten.

Balic came through the footballing academy in Linz before making his debut for SK Vorwarts Steyr. He then made the switch to St Polten in 2015 and has been a first-team regular over the last 18 months.
