Celtic Revive Plans To Sign 21 Year Old Midfielder A Year After £3.25m Move Collapsed

Celtic are set to reignite their interest in Motherwell midfielder David Turnbull, according to reports in the Scottish media.

The Hoops agreed a £3.25m fee for the 21-year-old last year before the transfer collapsed after he failed his medical. The Scotland Under 21 international spent several months recovering from knee surgery after the issue was discovered, before returning to action in February.

Turnbull has started this season in decent form, with one goal in his first four appearances and Celtic scouts have been keeping tabs on his progress. It is thought that Neil Lennon’s side could now make another attempt to sign him before the transfer window closes.

Whether the Scottish champions will table a new bid before the October 5th deadline, we shall have to wait and see, but it seems clear that, despite his major injury setback, Turnbull could well still end up playing at Parkhead in the very near future.
